| Prof. Ilan Chet completed his doctoral work in microbiology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Faculty of Agriculture in Rehovot. He held several administrative positions at the University the last being Vice President for Research and Development. Prof. Chet served as President of the Weizmann Institute of Science from 2001 to 2006, and was nominated Full Professor in its Department of Biological Chemistry (2005). He has also served as Visiting Professor at renowned universities in the US and Europe, and as consultant to companies and organizations. Recipient of numerous awards and prizes, he has published more than 350 articles in international scientific journals, edited three books in his field, and holds 32 patents. |
